    woodsorrel is not clover

I've been trying some new stuff, using the page on Nutrition Content from beautiful dragons dot com… Vincent has decided he loves dandelion flowers, and so I've been mixing other stuff in there since he has renewed interest in the "greens" bowl due to those flowers, to see what he likes, etc…...

    My Beardie

Antibiotics do not kill parasites… they really should be administered only for known bacterial infections. What you need to do is have a fecal flotation done. All it requires is a poop from your beardie. No beardie is too small to poop. Your vet doesn't need to even see the beardie again...

    My Beardie

Well you haven't mentioned anything about her having any respiratory issues, so I'm not saying what you're doing regarding hydration is wrong, or that I haven't seen care videos that promote the practice of spraying in the tank or providing water in a dish in the tank, but what I will say is...

    My Beardie

It's frustrating when the vet doesn't really help, isn't it. Did they do a fecal? Why were antibiotics indicated? It has been my [admittedly limited] experience that beardies really slow down at the 8 - 12 month age and eating habits can change radically. As in, their growth rate has slowed...

Please help my 10 year old daughter is freaking out.

I'm sorry too, and agree with previous post- there is a lot of info out there that suggests that bearded dragons are the perfect, easy reptile to start with, and lots on anecdotal info out there to refute those claims. things can go "south" very fast with these guys, and it's so unfortunate...

    Heating up the house

I'm comparing 1/8" or 1/4" glass because that is what is likely to be found in an aquarium. There is little to no air transfer at the glass panels on my enclosure, they fit tight and I use weatherstripping at the joints to keep the ladybugs out. There is air transfer at the vents in the back...

    Heating up the house

sorry i have to disagree. unless you are talking about double paned windows, glass has nowhere near the R value of melamine. in practice i have seen this with my enclosure, which is melamine with glass sliding front doors. it stays much warmer overnight in the enclosure if i hang a towel...

    Heating up the house

A dimmer is a great addition regardless of enclosure material. But… a melamine enclosure is far better than glass for holding the heat. Also, using rocks and slate in the enclosure helps.

    scale problem!!

So basically nothing untoward there… well, I like Tonja's recommendation as far as the soaks go… before all this, has Sora been getting regular soaks?

    scale problem!!

hm, could it be abrasion? the scales have been rubbed off by something? you don't have a heat rock or anything like that she could be laying on? what stuff do you have in the enclosure besides the carpet?

    Coming out of Brumation? Complications

if you think something is wrong, if you are weighing her and seeing a weight loss, if she just looks not right, then most definitely check it out. i certainly did with mine. but once i was told by the vet, and later by an independent fecal, that nothing was amiss, and i figured out his rhythm...

    Coming out of Brumation? Complications

My bearded would sleep 12 months out of the year if I let him. I basically monitor his weight and overall condition- I'll let him go as long as he's not losing weight or looks otherwise ill. I wake him up every few days with a bath, or just uncovering him from his hide, and usually that is...
