My Beardie got very lazy as he wouldn"t eat live food either - Now I have to hand feed him everyday and I use the canned crickets and canned superworms which he loves both. Also, to get him to eat his greens, I put a lil squash baby food on it - he loves the baby food. :( He has me trained for sure.

Ok I thought that as they get older, they slow down on shedding. Alvin is shedding AGAIN - this is the fourth time since December. He turned 1 year old on 2/14. Isn't this a lot? Is there something that causes them to shed too much?

I am so glad your baby is doing better. I can so relate to the pickyness of their eating. I also use squash baby food because if I don't, Alvin won't eat crickets or his greens. I have to dip them both into the babyfood and then he will eat. Since I do this, he won't go after his food anymore...

Well I had him about 14" away the last 2 days and now he won't open his eyes for very long. I think they are hurting him. Before I got this, I had a Repti Sun 10. I guess I better go back to it. Will his eyes be hurt for long? Is there anything I can do? thanks

The directions say min of 12" for 100W T-Rex Active UV Heat. Does that mean that my beardie can not be any farther away than 12" or can't get any closer than 12"? Thank you. Christine

I use slate tile and love it - they clean up real easy and keep Alvin's nails trimmed down nicely.

I just use slate tile it it works great - it isn't slippery at all. I have used the non-adhesive also, but it is more of a pain to keep cleaned up.

Sounds like he is just upset due to relocation changes. Alvin does puff up his beard every morning to exercise it but he has never black bearded me except when I took him outside. As long as his temps are ok, he is probably just stressed and needs to get used to his new house.

I wrap Alvin up in his blanket every night and rock him to sleep. He stays that way all night and slowly comes out when his light comes on. If he gets sleepy while I am holding him, he will craw up to my neck and snuggle in my hair. He loves to have his head covered.

It looks pretty normal to me - and I remember hearing if it is male, they are more prominent? Well I am sure Tracy or someone who has more knowledge will answer soon.
