Is there really any concern that the tunnel will collapse, or am I being paranoid? Do they usually dig far enough to have their whole body in there and then some?
Hi there!
Usually the blackish tip is related to retained shed. Try soaking your beardie with some water and a little bit of iodine (color should be weak tea) to try and get the retained shed.
However, I had the same issue with my dragon and the vet said Lillie had an infection and sometimes a...
Please help- my dragon has been very restless and digging at the sides of her cage for maybe 4 weeks now! We just got her a "dig box" with alfalfa pellets, thinking that was the issue. She's been digging so much that the nails on her back feet are down to the quick. One started bleeding...
The tip of my dragons tail was turning dark and the vet said she has a blood infection. She's been on antibiotics for nearly 3 weeks now and her tail was better, but has now become darkened again. When looking closely, I think it's actually retained stubborn tail shed. It's not lifting though...
She seems to be feeling better. Still a little groggy.. not really active. But we still haven't been feeding her live protein yet.. just the powder stuff mixed with water that they gave us. And she's only been on that parasite medication for not even a week, so I think that may be what it is...
I'm not sure. It doesn't say anything else on the bottle. It looks like they make the medicine there at the office. Should I still do milk thistle in addition?
She's doing better as the days goes on! She's still a little lethargic, which has me concerned, but not nearly as bad as she was. And...
Hi Tracie! :)
I actually sent you a message... yesterday? I think! I appreciate you following up :)
Lillie usually doesn't mind her baths. We're soaking her daily about 25-30 minutes. Yesterday, she was actually drinker the water from the syringe they gave us. She drank A LOT. Which leads to my...
Should I force her to drink? She's sleeping now but I'll do it in the morning. She wouldn't drink this afternoon. Is it important for them to physically drink it vs just soaking? And when I'm soaking her (which we do daily), should I be using electrolytes as well? The vet did say it's important...
Thanks for the advice on keeping her hydrated, I'll look out for that. They did a CBC test that should be back in 2 days (I don't remember what that's for though) and they said the adeno one can take up to 14 days.
They said it could be either fatty or failing, they're not sure. She said she...
UPDATE:
We took her to the vet and she is really really really sick :( I had to go back to work so I don't have all the technically terms she used. She DOES have parasites, but she also is nearly going into liver failure. They wanted to hospitalize her, but we couldn't afford the extra $500...
Here she is this morning. She's usually here when she wakes up, but she's scratched a couple times at the back wall, almost like she's trying to climb up it. And she's propped herself upward towards the UVB light. I have made no changes to the light lately. It's 10.0 long bulb... Reptisun I...
Yes, still black bearded. I checked on her at like 6pm and she wasn't black bearding. Then I checked on her like 8:00pm and it's been black ever since. (It's 8:35pm right now) I'm not sure what triggered it. Her lights were shutting off right when I checked on her and noticed it.
That makes sense. To add though, she has been this color for the last 30 minutes, and we just put her in the bath 10 minutes ago to see if maybe she was backed up from eating so much this afternoon.
