Do you mean the soft fiber like Eco Earth?
Coconut fiber is better suited for tropical critters. It can get dusty if it's not kept damp (and it can get messy when it's damp). There have been reports of it causing problems if ingested as well.

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
