any idea what type of wattage i would need to heat a 30 gallon tank. the one they are both in now is a 30 gallon.. The one we are purchasing over the next couple of days is also a 30 gallon. And does it matter if it's white or infrared. will it make a difference or hurt either of them if i use an infrared ones.. from what i found, the infrared ones are cheaper by like 10$.. and while being in the process of being a house and getting a completely second setup, 10$ is 10$ know what i mean.

A ceramic heat emitter does not give off light. That's what you need for night heat. Yup, not cheap either, around $30 dollars, depends on wattage/brand. What size is your tank again? 30 gallon? I have a 60 watt CHE for a 29 High gallon tank. Keeps the air temps around 85 on the side that has the heater.

I have 200 watts in a 55 gallon. It's set up as a spot light on top of the tank on the screen in one corner, with plastic covering the rest of the screen to keep the heat in. There is also a hood with two 100watt ceramics in it, but they are sideways and do not blast the heat directly down, they just heat up the air, and the 24" UV bulb is in the hood. Any kind of light in there at night keeps them awake, blue, purple, red, I've tried them all and they all keep them awake. It has to be totally dark. The white ceramic works the best and it's actually cheaper in the long run since they last so long.

Latest update:
After two baths, basking in the light, flushing her eye with saline, she doesn't seem to be getting any better. Her eye litterally looks swollen and bruised. you can tell by the purplish/pinkish color to her eye. She's barely open her other eye either. Hasn't moved much all day since she'S pretty much walking around blind at this point. When i last tried to flush her eye, just gently pouring the saline over her closed her was making her sensitive. Her beard is turning black more often these days since we are trying to nurse her back to health. I only got maybe 1/16 of a teaspoon of puree into her today. I really can't wait to bring her to the vet on tuesday.

As for King, he seems to have calmed down slightly, but the sooner I get the second tank, the sooner things should get back to normal hopefully.

I have used a hot damp cloth on a severe infected cut on my own leg and it drew out the infection pretty good until I got to to the doctor, it was purple and infected and the compress helped....

I've tried a hot damp cloth on her before within the last week or so.. She gets severally irritated by it. she puffs out her beard, gets mad and makes it black. Just touching her lightly causes her to swat at her eye, which i only think is making it worst.. at this point i'm afraid that everything and anything i'm doing is making it worst since i don't really see any significant results.

That was her yesterday.. I know it's not a whole lot of detail but I'll get better ones later today after i'm done inspecting the new house and picking up more necessary items if possible for the reptiles.

These are pictures of her 6 months ago at 3 months old. Turns out she's nine months, not 6 months, I completely forgot we got her at 3 months lol.

Like I said, more to come later today.
