Hooray for spot orange colours! I'm sure he's glad to get rid of all of the itching. Hoe personality reminds me soooo much of Kazi when he was little!

He looks adorable on the cave :)

Hehe thanks Christina,
He is certainly a character. He always find a really good vantage spot to watch me set up his food...even on the days when he has absolutely no intentions of eating. It's adorably frustrating.

Thanks, Haley! He did the eye thing this morning and I about died. I have a loud laugh and I had to suck it all in cuz he gets stress marks when I laugh too much! I believe the area around his eyes are the next to shed. He did his chin, now his eyes...seems like he is going to do his head piece by piece.

Just as an update. We have started a small Dubia colony. Norris has hit 13 grams! and 7.75" . Because he seems to really like them, we are letting him have five pellets a day but no more because he lost weight when he was stuffing himself on him. We toss in three bee pollen pellets with those and he usually picks up one or two of those as well. He is eating at least a few nibbles of salad every morning and this morning put a pretty good dent into it. Today's was dandelion green, bok choy and little mango bits on top to attract him.

I'm having trouble finding crickets in the right size. Waiting on the Dubia... More photos when Norris decides to do something. :p

Today's pictures might be roach pictures... My husband is really proud of his set up *LOL* As he should be and thank goodness he is willing to do it because I can handle the babes but I don't think I wanna meet the parents! I better go make Norris pose so it won't all be BUGS!

Woo-Hoo! Nothing better than beardies and their bugs pics! :blob5:

First thing in the morning! It will be a lovely way to start my day :D

Oh, and you HAVE to...just once...touch an adult dubia. It is a rule.

YAY Mirthy! I'm so proud of Norris! Way to get chubby!

And the roaches aren't so bad, but I know you have your limits and that's just fine. I'm proud you're touching a nymph! I can't wait to see photos tomorrow.

BTW did you get your laptop back? I think I might have missed that if you did already post that

I've handled those hissing cockroaches because I had to for a job I used to have. It's just a roach thing. I'm phobic! Snakes, spiders, other bugs are no problem. I've hack sawed frozen rats in two to feed to owls...no sweat! Its not a gross thing, it's pure phobia! This is how much I hate roaches...today I only ate breakfast cuz I got weirded out over the roaches! (which are in the garage and I haven't even SEEN!) My husband wants to point out that today I was trying to figure out how to rehome 6 dozen crickets that were too large for Norris rather than letting their deaths be in vain! I'm sitting here laughing at myself and itching at the same time! Someone check me into a psycho ward! One with good food...and NO ROACHES. (perhaps I'm over sharing teehehe)

EDIT: btw, we ended up deciding to give cricket breeding a try *LOL* got the stuff set up already so those crickets can go about doing crickety things and give us some nice crunchies for Norris :D

That's a great set up! I really need to get a pot rack!!!

I was separating my roaches yesterday and one got loose :( I didn't find it. When I sat down after separating I was convinced there were roaches crawling up my arms lol! I don't mind them
too much- I can touch them etc but I'm still itching lol!

OH! One more thing.........

After you have separated or been in the bin (haha) a lot...check your clothes  I once walked into the bathroom after doing the separation and saw in the mirror a large female dubia  Guess she just wanted to hitch a ride away from all the pressure to produce

Now don't go checking your clothes all the time! LOL Although nothing says love more than asking your spouse to check your back(side) for roaches  :laughing6:

Or...just put on some oldies music and do the twist LOL Ok, NO I did not get enough sleep last night and it is showing.

And...the tape around the bin! Yes, I know all about the hassle of forgetting to do that. Of course you only remember after the dubia are climbing all over the bin and heading on up :dontknow:

Yes, the rack is an amazing helper! May be my favorite *thing* in there other than the dubia themselves :)

GAH! you people are not helping! *LOL* I don't mind checking my husband's backside but would rather not to have roaches involved! GAH! I just told him he is absolutely NOT allowed to "lose one" hehehe. Though seriously, does anyone know how hot they can take it? Heating is not needed here at the moment, that's for certain.

Dragon side of things: Norris has gotten finicky again. It's just a big cycle. :banghead: We are giving some very serious consideration to changing his name to Morris. Like the cat from the old commercials from the 70s and 80s? Don't remember? Here's a example: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6O8zrQFSCxw&feature=related good ol' youtube. Today Norris did take two large chomps of salad and two dubia nymphs for breakfast and that was it.

My husband took my food record and put it into graph form so we could more easily see Norris' eating habits and then I had a talk with Norris. Naturally, he was completely unimpressed and completely unrepentant.

"yeh, and?"
graph2.jpg

"so what!"
graph3.jpg

"talk to the tail"
graph1.jpg

or at least that is what I'd imagine his response would be if he only knew what was on those annoying things that were messing up his run of the bed. The graphs show every bite that Norris has taken even if it was bee pollen... it's sort of his interest in eating graph. here's what it looks like...it always goes up over all but there are certainly some lulls.

It's possible we have too much time on our hands. But since it was interesting to us we thought we'd inflict it on everyone else, too. I did get two more dubia in the little guy because as I was passing by I noticed that he was eating pellets (we let him have five) just after he turned up his nose at some tasty dubia! He is one serious rapscallion! Then he went and hid in his hide. I think he picked up on my sense of indignity. oops.

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
