That's too bad about the expo :( It's hard because they're so exciting to go to and we all build it up sp much, then, blah! Just plain blah. *Sigh* better luck next time. Oh a "Stella cam" is a great idea! Big Brother, Beardie Addition! LOL! Are you sure the doggy didn't do it? Poor sweet Stella... :laughhard:

I know, the more I think about it, a "Stella Cam" would be awesome! I think I can score a good deal on a camera where I work, I think I'm going to look into it.

So you know how I said I was able to pic up a new UVB bulb from the expo? Well, the one I needed to replace was going on 8 months old , and since putting the new one in - let me just say HOLY COW Stella has gotten a HUGE burst of energy! She's insane! She rips around her enclosure all day long. Even now, I took her out to play, and she's in the kitchen right now literally trying to climb the cabinets. I don't know what to do with her! Oh, there - she just knocked one of my venus flytraps off the plant stand right now. AWESOME. :banghead:

Myah gets her new light this weekend, soooo...I'm a little scared now!

The princess chair was a gift to my daughter (the human one, lol) by her nana and grandma - I'm not sure where they got it from, but their usual shopping spots include Walmart, Big Lots and Costco - so I would imagine it came from one of those places. It's quite the popular piece of real estate in our house though - if my daughter isn't in it, then Stella is, and if neither of them, then the dog is sleeping in it.

I am at my wits end with Stella - she is SO HYPER from the minute she wakes up till its time to go to bed. She will TRASH her enclosure until someone lets her out, and then she seriously runs around the house, ripping things down as she goes. She's very happy and pleased with herself and the path of destruction that she creates, so I know she's okay and not in distress or something. She comes and finds me to make sure I see her every few minutes, (I'll say "I SEE YOU!", which she seems to love when I say) then runs away to go trash something else. She's managed to destroy so far:

1.) knock a potted plant down from the shelf
2.) rip one vertical blind down from the sliding glass door
3.) knock the handle loose on the bottom drawer of the oven by trying to climb it
4.) dump over books on the bookshelf, dominoes-style
5.) throw all of her cage furniture around
6.) dump the dog's food all over the kitchen floor

She's also been doing little poops everywhere. Like, a few times a day. That, combined with the restless behavior - it almost seems like "gonna lay eggs" behavior, but there's no WAY she's got eggs. She's too young, and I don't feel any in her belly. :|

Hmmm...that is hyper...maybe Stella's just an over achiever!

HAHA, that would be one way to put it... We put the Xmas tree up this weekend too, we're taking bets on how long it takes for her to get up into the tree. :banghead:

Wow she's in super crazy hyper beardie mode... Do you think maybe she's starting to make eggs in her body? Maybe she's in the very beginning stages of Mama hood?! Either that or she's just a crazy hyper beardie

I kind of think so... Maybe? I really don't know. :| She's being a wreckless teenager, lol  I think she kind of went thru a "baby brumation" where she slowed down a bit, then I replaced the UVB, and then that triggered her to "wake up" and it was just about the right time for her to sort of hit puberty (???) I'm totally guessing here, but that's kind of what seems like is going on. :study:

I don't know if maybe I should put a tray of damp sand in her enclosure just in case...??? My other female didn't start popping out eggs until she was well over a couple years old, so it was pretty obvious what was going on with her (I could always feel them in her belly too). Stella is just so young that I really doubt she could be ready to lay eggs any time soon.

Last night Stella wasn't nearly as hyper, but she climbed up onto the top of the middle of the couch and did a huge pancake thing and started beard-poofing and looking around to make sure everyone saw her! It was like she was showing off! We all "oooh"d and "ahhh"d for her, which I think she thought was fantastic.

Wow, Stella sounds like she's keeping you pretty entertained!! I would love to see her running all over like a dragon demolition derby  Makes me nervous for when Doodles will finally wake up, she's been sleeping for about a month now.

How old would you say is the right age for females to make eggs? This is the first year Sunny is in brumation, but she's only a year and a few months. Seems too young to make eggs.. I plan on having a lay box ready for her when she wakes up just in case, although I am really hoping not to have to use it.
You should try to get a video of Stellas adventures during her play time, I also would love to see her wrecking havoc all over the place! We need to do another play date with the babies again soon. I would like for you to get comfortable with all the babies before you beardiesit in January. Besides that and PeeWee misses you and Stella! He talks about jumping on her all the time, and what a big crush he has on her!

You know, I don't really know. I've read that they can lay them under a year old, but it's not really the norm, usually they are a little older than that. Gidgit was well over 2 years old when she layed her first clutch, but then again that was back in the day, and my husbandry wasn't as good as it is for Stella (Reptisun was only making 5.0 UVB bulbs, for instance - 10.0's weren't out yet) so maybe she would have layed them sooner if she was in the same kind of set-up as Stella. :dontknow:

I bet Sunny will lay eggs this year, though - especially since she's going thru a full-on brumation. Oh joy!

Stella has slowed down again. I have no idea what's up with her! She's very snuggly, and pretty much just wants to be held all the time (which I am quite happy to do!) The closer she can plaster herself to my neck, the happier she is!

Yes, we'd love to visit again! I'm dying to see you and your babies again! And meet little Daisy... hee hee hee! And Stella needs to give PeeWee a piggyback ride, LOL

And yes, I really want to make sure I get to know all of your babies' routines so that they are as comfortable as possible with me while you and Jeffrey are on vacation! I'm already planning on going into work later during the time you guys are gone, so that I can make sure I can get over there in the mornings to make sure everyone's lights are on, happy and fed. And of course in the evenings too for baths and lovins! I promise I will take good care of everybody - they are like little nieces and nephews to me! :love5:

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
Mirage entered brumation yesterday, I'm gonna miss hanging out with my little guy.
