Hi everyone! I know it's been a while....Zoey has been keeping me busy around here! (She had her one year birthday on May 30...my baby isn't a baby anymore!)
Ok, so Zoey has been acting really weird. She has always been a cuddle bug and very sweet and calm for the most part. Lately she's been making weird sounds and jumping around like something is wrong. So I took her to the vet last week. She said her lungs sound good and she felt her belly (I was worried that she was about to lay eggs). I always take a stool sample when I go there. The vet called back yesterday to tell me she has, what she called, "isospora". After doing a little research, I found that this is coccidia?? Am I right?? I've read enough on here to learn that this is a nasty parasite. I know alot of you have had to deal with this. Where do I start?? The vet is calling in meds to the pharmacy but what else do I have to do to get rid of this? Am I right in thinking she got this from these nasty crickets?
Zoey does sleep in a "blankie" at night and I always wash them on sanitary with regular laundry detergent along with special stuff I ordered from bd.co so everything is nice and clean and...well, sanitary! (I hope, now that I know what's wrong with her.)
Every day Zoey gets her probiotics and acidopholus (sorry if I spelled it wrong). I have been keeping her CHE on at night as I knew something was wrong with her. HELP!!
I know everyone will ask...yes, her lighting is correct but I'll go over everything anyway...
She has her reptisun 10, basking spot is between 105-108 (any warmer and she moves to the other side of her viv), she's in a 40 breeder (basking bulb is a clear house bulb), she has paper towels for substrate and the UV is inside the tank. I do change her UV light every 4-5 months just to be safe. At night I use the CHE if it gets below 72 (I'm a neurotic beardie mom  ). She eats squash everyday (it's the only veggie she will eat) and crickets. I give her calcium 5 times/week, multivitamin twice a week. I give her water multiple times a day, bath every 2-3 days. She poops at least once a day (lots of urates and water), if she misses a day I put her in the bath and rub her belly until she goes. I make sure nothing I feed her is bigger than the space between her eyes. When I clean out her viv I use stuff I got from bd.co (to make sure it's disinfected correctly) and I bake her logs/branches. I do take her to the vet if she has any sign of a problem. I am fortunate to live near the best vet in our area. She is just over 400 grams (407 I believe) and is about 17-1/2-18 inches long (she's all tail!!). She has a nice belly on her, she is filling out nicely and eats well. Vet said she looks great. (I hope I remembered everything.)
Thank you for any advice you have to offer.
