I am a new member. I've read here wonderful advice. But maybe I'm trying to make too many changes at once? Am I causing her stress?
I read about discontinuing the coil UVB, and replaced that with a 100 watt MVB this weekend and built a bigger basking platform. The temps aren't quite right, but I'm getting there.
I read about obesity, and she's on her 2nd day of no crickets. She's always had fresh greens but won't eat them. I'm hoping she'll reconsider with her prey gone. The vet advised against doing this. She's around 20" and weighs 572 grams.
6 days ago on her checkup, the vet removed a polyp from her gum and we are awaiting results. She also got blood work. I am sure the polyp removal particularly, hurt her.
She's also shedding. So I read here bathe more often. She's had 2 baths. She hates baths.
All of this has happened in the last 5-6 days. Should I prioritize this stuff? I worry I am doing too much too fast and causing higher levels of stress.
She won't use her new platform and I know the temps are a little low, but I've ordered the megaray 160 MVB and am waiting for it to arrive. She won't leave her previous perch much at all, so she doesn't get the benefit of the new UVB. She seems upset that I put in a new platform.
She won't eat the greens. Will eat prey though if I give it to her.
I misted her this morning (read it here to do when shedding) , and she just looked at me like, "why have you turned so mean?"
Or it could be she's still stressed over the vet visit.
Any thoughts? I don't want to cause more stress for her.
