Ooops... I just realized Meathead is not a hypo (clear nailed) dragon.
But regardless... the only way to get seemingly florescent coloration from oranges (pastels) reds etc...
is by mixing in the translucent genetics.
Thats what makes the translucent genetics so amazing IMPO.
Translucent dragons were essentially pioneered by one person: Josh Dovenbarger
He took some really weak dragons that showed this genetic morph/trait and over the course of years bred them and worked with them eventually bringing about the translucent genetic morph.
Hypo genetics and translucent genetics are polar opposites so a dragon that shows both traits is a very desirable dragon.
Its like having an albino person that is of African decent.
Doesnt happen too often... they are very hard to produce and they are typically not that healthy. Only recently have they started to produced them with healthy vibrant personalities.
A tripple morph such as my girl here: MandyMoon is a hypotranslucentleatherback a tripple morph
Her eyes are somewhere between a hypos eyes and the all black eyes of a translucent dragon. Her eyes look all black actually the flash pics up the fine details.
I think she is really a beautiful dragon and love her eyes (colors are not enhanced):
The translucent gene makes the colors appear so vibrant and robust its really cool:
Can you see how she literally glows orange?
I have and have had numerous hypos and pastels.
They do not glow a seemingly florescent color.
Not until you have the translucent morph mixed into the equation.
Dragons with that type of coloration and the translucent genes etc run 500+ as a baby.
MandyMoon I would say is about a 1500 dollar dragon or thereabouts.
Due to her size, color, vitality, and outstanding triple morph genetics.
Just to enlighten some on the higher end morphs.
I need to get some recent pictures of her Mandy Moon she is getting very big now.
