Thanks for the advice. I originally had his UVB mounted above the tank, but when he stopped eating, I did some research and decided it was too far away from him and read that the mesh screens out a lot of the UVB. The tank is 17" tall and so I mounted it on the back wall of the tank about 10 inches from the floor. His basking spot is towards the front of the tank, and is 7 inches from the basking light. Currently the basking light is 100 watts but I also have a 75 watt I could switch out.
