Yellow fungus?!?!??

God, I hope that’s not what this is... I just noticed this off colored patch last night. It’s not sensitive to touch, or anything like that. The rest of his body is normal. He was being kinda sluggish, but since changing his lights, he’s been much more active! I was really feeling pretty good about him, then this..I’m hoping maybe it’s dried hornworm guts as he gets really sloppy with those..

So.... any ideas?

I don't think it's at all Yellow Fungus, it looks more like a stain from something he ate, or maybe retained shed...Try a warm bath and use a soft toothbrush to see if it comes off. If it doesn't come off after that, then try to get another photo of the area that's a little closer to the spot so we can see it more clearly, because from that photo it just looks like a stain...

Ok, I’ll try that. I gave him a bath last night, but I didn’t want to scrub it or anything in case it hurts, but I’ll try a tooth brush tonight, thank you!

Give it a try, you won't hurt him, just be gentle. Usually in a bath their beards/jaw don't sit in the water anyway, so it's not like it soaked or anything. Give it a try and see what happens...

Has he shed that area recently?

I don’t think he’s shed that area very recently.. half of his head and his neck are about to shed and it looks like around his eyes and mouth may be getting ready to shed as well. He just had his tail shed the other day.
