Yellow Fungus Estimated Costs

Hello,

I believe my Bettie may have yellow fungus. The skin on her back turned yellow-ish, and I thought she was shedding, but a small area of scales lifted to reveal a red/raw sore spot. I have no idea how she may have gotten this because her vet confirmed previously that her husbandry is ideal and I don't have other beardies. In any case, I'm not asking for a diagnosis, but does anyone have any idea how much a vet visit/treatment for yellow fungus would cost? I'm waiting a few days for my paycheck to come in before I take her. In the meantime, I am applying Lamisil 1% to her back. I'm just trying to get an estimate of the overall cost. I figure there will be an exam, biopsy, maybe an x-ray, and medication. If anyone knows the costs of these that would be awesome!

Thank you!

So pic on the left is the discoloration I noticed, right picture is how her back usually looks. The orange freckles and black line on her left side were checked out and are normal.

For UVB I'm using the Reptisun 10.0 18in tube, it sits just on top of the screen lid and she can get within 5 or so inches of it. It is a large-weave mesh which is why it's on top and not inside the enclosure. Basking spot is 105 degrees f and cool side of the tank is about 75 degrees f. I have one of the laser thermometers that I check it with.

Cool side is too cool for daytime 80's -- please get a digital probe thermometer to get accurate temps - IR guns are good but cannot read off of certain basking materials - the T 8 needs to go inside the tank the T 8's are not strong enough to go thru any screen at all - the screen will cut down approx 30% of the ubv- if you want to invest in a Zoo Med / Reptisun 24" fixture w/a 10.0 T 5 bulb I would recommend that and then it could stay on top of the tank - w/ a distance of 8-10 inches directly underneath --- this is part of the problem w/ the issue your posting about -- shes not getting those rays -- I still want the others I posted to look and see what they think is going on but I do believe your going to need to get her to a vet --- also please no more bathing for now - you could be spreading more of what is going on here and its best to air on the side of caution till you know what is going on --- one of the people I flagged is our vet tech --

Okay thanks for the info I'll look into fixing her UVB. Should I continue applying Lamisil (cream form) until I can get her to the vet? Would it do any harm?

I am not sure about the lamisil -- that is why I have the others looking at your post --- they are better knowledgeable w/ this skin stuff than I am --- just no bathing for now - we dont want this spreading and water can do that

Hi there, so far it looks like a lot of uneven shed which can be normal for most beardies. The light yellow streak just stands out because of the splotchy shedding. Did you by chance pull the shed off for it to be a sore spot ? A pic would be very helpful, so far I don't see a clear cut case of Y.F, just splotchy shed. And it's not possible to give an estimate on Y.F. treatment, every case is different and vets charge different rates.

Here is a picture of the sore. And yes, I thought she was shedding so I carefully helped her remove some, and this red spot was underneath. I should be clear the skin was already flaking off and I just brushed it away. She hasn't shed for some time actually, not since before winter. Her shedding becomes weird during the winter, like she partially brumates. She's never had this problem before and nothing notable has changed with her husbandry.

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
Mirage entered brumation yesterday, I'm gonna miss hanging out with my little guy.
