Wyatt is about 4-5 weeks old. He will only eat 2 or 3 crickets in the morning and maybe 4 (maybe) in the afternoon. If I try to give him anymore he wants nothing to do with them. If I try at different times, still, no more...he seems to be very healthy, but I am getting a little concerned because I see all these posts that say beardies should be eating a huge amount of crickets while young. He will munch on his greens a tiny bit first thing in the morning before his couple of crickets, but still not much.
Anyone else have this kind of BD?

Thx
Wyatts Mom

ps should I try the appetite Bites?

What size crickets are you feeding? Also, how long have you had Wyatt? What are the temps in your enclosure and are you using a UVB? I've heard that a lot of people have beardies that go nutty for the Beardie Bites, but mine would never touch the stuff, and I have a random bag of pink cubes in my fridge which I can't figure out what to do with

Sorry this isn't on topic, but if your dragon won't eat the beardie bites, you can give them to your crickets to eat - that way your dragon still gets the good stuff because it'll be inside the crickets. Just a tip I found helpful when my dragon also refused to eat that type of food.

We've had Wyatt for about a week. He seems to be doing really good other than eating a lot of crickets. I did notice yesterday that some of the ones that are in the keeper are getting big! I know those are too big to give to him. Also he has his UVB/UVA light "ReptiSun". The temp for some reason only gets about 90 F. It's a wooden viv with Acrilic doors that slide.

I will try the Beardie bites and see if that helps his appetite. Also the note on giving them to the crickets if Wyatt won't eat them is great!
Thanks All

It might be that his temps aren't high enough for him to digest properly. How are you measuring that temperature? Basking spots for a baby should be between 100-110F, preferably toward the higher end of that range. Try moving the basking spot closer to the lamp, or vice versa, and play around with temperatures.

It normally takes about 2 weeks for a bearded dragon to get settled into a new home, and in that time he should slowly increase the amount of food that he eats. Darwin was never much of a voracious eater when he was a baby, and he went from eating 2-5 crickets per day when I first got him to about 30 crickets per day 3 weeks later up until I switched to roaches. As long as your baby is active and has a nice, round belly, I think he should be fine.

OK I will try that. And yes his belly is nice and round...maybe he's sneaking his greens in the middle of the night, lol. Since everytime I look at him when he is eating some of his vegies he instantly stops and runs to his rock. Silly boy..
Thanks again

I just set Swordtail's timer for his bath and paused it so I could actually fill his soaking bowl up and he crawled over my phone and canceled the timer 🤣
Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
