I am trying to get a side buisness going called KRITTER KOMFORTS and would like some honest feedback and suggestions from the members here. Please keep in mind that these 2 were built with snakes in mind as I would surley change out the Mossy Oak cammo with something a little more species specific. The doors are available in a removeable panel (shown), hinged, or sliders. Well enough yappin and on with some pix!

my logo (little rough I know)

forgot to mention that options also include cage only, cage on legs, or cage with stand.

and by the way, I'm not trying to sneak around the "for sale" forum, I am looking for honest feedback as the pet store won't be straight with me and screwed me on the labor cost. That's ok though a customer was playing with it and dropped the front panel flattening 3 of the 5 latches,. If they paid me I'd fix it but screw them. Now they are out cash just like I was. :laughhard:

What are the dimensions of it?

My only concern with it is most want them stackable for multiple babies or at least I do.

They don't look too bad. I personally would prefer a lighter shade of wood even a solid color would work. Also, I like a place to hide the lights because I hate seeing the fixtures. good craftsmanship though!!

Thank you . I am shooting more for "custom orders" rather than mass production, so I would be able to match peoples decor, and would be able to make it however a customer wanted. Thanks again.

dimensions shown are 3'x2'x22" tall.
The breeder I got Sapheria from also suggested making them stackable, and this would be very easy to achieve.
Thanks 4 the input

Nice work.Wish I could do something like that. I have to agree with the above post.Incorporating the lighting inside will give the enclosure a much cleaner look. Plus it allows you to stack them easier. I would also like it with a little thinner wood trim around the front...so it has as much viewable area as possible.

The craftsmanship looks good, and I personally like the red (rosewood/cherry?) finish. Stackable would definitely be a plus. Also keep in mind the fixture that would be needed for a BD. The cleaner looking the inside of the cage the better. For example, wiring and fixtures should be hidden as much as possible.

One thought about the ventilation though. Both vents are at the top. I usually put vents in the bottom on one side and the top on the other. Heat rises pulling fresh air in from the bottom vent. Not sure what others do regarding that though.

Your likely going to be limited to local sales as shipping would be a bit expensive on large enclosures unless they can easily be broken down and assembled.

As with everything price is going to be a big factor.

Good Luck
Kevin

I like the vivs I think you could do much better for the logo though. I would use photoshop to take an image of a real snake and lizard footprint and create a logo.

do you use glass or plexi. i make my own cages an a few for friends. a couple of them thought they were saving money telling me to use plexi but i argued they wouldnt be in the long run. they still insisted on plexi. so they got it and i had to go and get glass cut for 2 of them so far to fix the scratched up doors from a tegu and a beardie. plexi is fine for snakes though id guess. also for vents. on beardie cages i make i just make the top cage top so i dont have to add vents and you can place the same light fixtures people already have right on top as they are already used to doing.

your cages look great though. furniture quality for sure. i make mine all out of melamime and put nice oak for trim around the front and stain it natural. i love they way they look like that. also do you use undertank heat for the snakes to get that belly heat? could be easily done too im guessing. for another option. and maybe adding a shelf in them for another basking area an to increase floor space.

The other problem with plexiglass is it gets stackly charged so dust and other things will just cling to it.

Thank you for the responses. I was definatly thinking local market, reptile shows. I am going to be building my beardies cage soon and will take it as a full size display. I have a small one made from diff. types of wood and stained diff colors. It's only $30 bucks for the a table at the monthly show here in town, and I was thinking I could make some fake basking rocks and platforms and probably cover the table cost with those as I don't honestly think I'll get more than a few orders a year, but hey something to do right and who doesn't enjoy a reptile show?

anyway I appreciate the feedback. thanks again

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
