I only go into petsmart or petco when my local pet store is out of crickets. I was disgusted with how they were taking care of their beardies and other reptiles yet again but this time it was so much worse. Normally they have some crickets roaming around in there, overall temps at about 85 with a basking spot semi close to the heat source (red bulb u serious?) which i would assume is pretty close to semi proper temps. And a 20-30% humidity according to thier hydrometer. Today i say 60% humidity and an overall cage temp of 95. And thats on one of those crappy analog thermometers that almost always run low! I couldn't believe it and that was only half of it. They had (as you can see in the pic) beardies that are probably around 2 weeks old, already to young. AND A FULL BOWL OF MEAL WORMS. Are you serious your that stupid you feed 2week old beardies meal worms when beardies under 16in can become seriously impacted? And to top it all off in the front corner of the tank there was a pool of water about 1-1 1/2 in deep. You guys are doing great. When i tried to tell the manager he very disrespectfully replies, well this is the proper way to house them so obviously your information is wrong. Yea. No UVB light, Red heat lamp, Overall temp of 99, standing water, meal worms that young. Im obviously in the wrong guy. Good job on being an ignorant bastard. Oh btw, to top it all off, There was a nice big sticker on the front of the tank that said. "Petco cares about thier reptiles" Dont care enough to listen to someone who obviously knows how to properly take care of them. This is exactly why i buy my crickets elsewhere, i cant even go into those places.
