Hey I'll try and make this quick.
Took Hennessy to the vet yesterday because he was lethargic, hadn't eaten in almost two weeks, and hadn't pooped in the same timeframe.
He had to stay at the vet overnight so they could do a fecal exam. Picked him up earlier this afternoon from vet, he seemed like he was doing a whole lot better.
Fecal exam came back with signs of pinworm so the vet treated him with (1) dose of PANACUR, and sent one home with an extra one to give him in two weeks. The side effects of this are vomiting, which hasn't happened, yet.
Brought him home, gave him a bath (he was fine) and put him in his tank. Now we just installed 2 brand new uvb's in his tank right before hand so that's new to him. His substrate is tile, basking temps between 98-105/ cool end stays around 80-84 ish.
I happened to be looking in his direction and noticed that he was flaring his beard, as well as looking like he was gagging. So being the hypochondriac that I am, I freaked out. Called the animal hospital and they said it shouldn't be a side effect from Panacur, but could be either choking or a respitory problem i.e. not breathing right.
The vet said that everything as far as lungs heart ears eyes etc. etc. was fine. So im wondering, what the h*ll is making him do this.
Right under his chin, his beard is sucked in, which it never is. and the bottom of his beard by his neck is puffed out a little and looks lumpy. What is causing this?? if anything???
