Ok guys and gals, I need your opinion. I purchased a gorgeous adult male citrus tiger last week from someone I found on the internet and that dragon is doing awesome. Eating its greens, crickets, superworms, etc. Very alert and active.

I was given a normal colored adult female earlier this week from a guy that needed to rehome her. I have her in a separate 40 gallon breeder. From day one she was more laid back. But now I am getting concerned. She literally lays in the same place all day. No movement. Never has eaten any veggies. Her abdomen seems much "fuller" than my male that eats like a horse. Almost like it is blown up. She is keeping one eye close now and only opening it once in awhile (this started yesterday). She did eat around a dozen or so crickets last night but she waits for them to come to her (I feed them outside of their cages). I just took her out of tank and when I put her back in on the cool side, she just lays there and hasnt bothered to crawl back to the rock she stays on all of the time. I have no history with bearded dragons so someone give me your thoughts please. Thanks!

Your beardie could be going into brumation if she if becoming lethargic.

Also; try raising your temps so that the cool side of the tank is around 100-105F and your cool side is around 80-85. 70 is probably the coolest you want your tank to get and is it is safe to let it drop to the 70's at night.

So everyone keeps two bulb/fixtures on their vivariums? If I have a MVB on one side with her rocks, what would you suggest putting on the other side?

Thank you!!!

Not everyone, really depends on your viv's needs... However, I agree it could probably use a little bump... a 60w or maybe lower regular household bulb could give you the bump you need on the cool side, and if the cool side is warmer than the warm side should get a little warmer too. You may even be able to make it warmer without another light by putting aluminum foil over part of the top if you have an open/screened top.

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
