Hey everyone don't suppose I could get some advice about Nigel, my beardie, we've had him about a month, his a rescue and about 4yrs old, he looked like he was starting to shed when we got him, but other then some extra shed starting on his leg nothing else has happened, there is some on his back which still looks ok, but has been the same since we got him, but there's a bit at the front bottom lip, that has got very hard, flacky and slightly darker, I've been misting him daily and bathing him every week, he has driftwood in his Viv and I've now put some rough rocks in there, and I've now ordered a shedding aid, but only cos it's not getting any better. Has anyone got any suggestions, or should I be worried, or take him to a vet? Sorry it's so long here are some pics

Hi there, he's a nice looking dragon. :) He has a slight underbite which is no real problem, and the scale formation is a little odd but nothing to worry about. You don't need to do anything for that, just keep him healthy + make sure he gets calcium about 3 times a week. Uneven sheds are very common in older dragons and can linger for weeks + at times even months.

I agree. That crusty bit on the chin doesn't look harmful. My rescue has the same kind of buildup/scab area in that spot. It hasn't changed or posed an issue in over a year now. Extra padding for when he bumps into walls as he's running around the house I guess =)

Thanks so much you've really helped calm me down about it, I was getting worried. I volunteer with reptiles but this is the 1st one I've owned so I feel like a new mum, worrying about every little thing ???

I just set Swordtail's timer for his bath and paused it so I could actually fill his soaking bowl up and he crawled over my phone and canceled the timer 🤣
Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
