Worried about Gobi

Hi guys. I just have a couple questions about Gobis recent behaviors that have me concerned. He is my first beardie. He is about 7 months old I believe. So lately right around 11am or so (right around when he poops) he starts glass surfing like crazy and butting his nose against the glass. I usually can’t get him out at this time, because I’m super busy with work. I run an in home preschool. He usually eats a huge bowl of salad everyday but he is less and less interested in bugs. He also is getting into his cave at 6pm or so. His lights run from 8 to 8. Are these normal behaviors? Right now he’s in a 40 gallon tank (upgrading soon) basking about 105-110. Has his uvb inside his tank.

Hi there, beardies can become more active when they have to poo so that's normal. At 7 months old he has youthful energy so random bursts of activity are also normal. You might try leaving his lights on for 13-14 hours to make is seem like the " summer " season rather than a shorter photo period. It's good that he eats a lot of greens, let him eat what he wants. Can you post pics of him to show his body size ? Here's how :

Yeah he's a big boy, no need to worry about him preferring greens. I had just edited my previous reply before you answered , I looked at your post history + saw the other pic showing his size.

Lol ok thank you, I just thought he was kinda young to not be into the bugs so it worries me. He’s weighing in at around 433. I’m glad everything seems normal! Thank you for your reply.

You're welcome ! And there is no real set perfect diet that is the standard for all dragons. The advice about them having to eat lots of bugs is more of a directive for owners that have a smaller dragon and the owner is possibly not offering it enough, but at a larger size like your dragon they can decide what to eat within reason as long as it's healthy food.
