Believe me, I'm still very worried and very paranoid the vet didn't diagnose correctly, but I don't have the money on hand atm for another vet visit so soon and she -seemed- to know what she was doing, at least in trying to describe a necrotic tail to us. I got her off of the herp vet connection website,
http://www.herpvetconnection.com/penn.shtml here. She's the second one listed under Pittsburgh. She's seen beardies before but I don't think she's seen healthier beardies much at all, because she kept describing to us just how Girl's colors were so unique and how she'd never seen such an active beardie before - the thing being that the most Girl did was just plop her belly down to try and find some kind of warm on her back because the room was cold. Well, that and being her naturally inquisitive self, turning her head around and looking at everything she could.
The only thing we can do is just keep an eye out for her tail and hope it doesn't go up any further. It looks like she might start shedding her tail soon (maaaybe), and if she does I'm super hoping the black part will fade with it. That way maybe it -is- just coloring. But given that with her sheds in the past it always seems to stay I don't know, hmm. Here's to hoping, though, crossing my fingers!
What are signs of a necrotic tail? Other than it turning black?
And it's okay! I'm very worried too! I'm super glad Girl seems to be growing on people though.
While it would definitely be interesting for it to just be coloring, I think for sanity's sake she should just get rid of it~! Haha!
I'll definitely keep updating with anything that happens with her tail.
