WORMS?

I am a very proud owned of a happy and healthy beardie named Wilson. He is approx 10 mos and is thriving I read the forums all of the time and i know that worms and parasites are quite common. Where do they pick them up from? Are they ingested? I don't seem to read a lot about what can cause these issues. Feed back would be greatly appreciated, wanna keep my guy happy!!

Yeah I have read also that it is very common for dragon's to get them. They get them from crickets and other feeders which makes.me wonder if its safe to treat them for worms and coccidia a couple times a year regardless if they have them or not. Hope I helped.

I wouldn't treat your dragon for parasites unless you confirm they have them. The meds can be harder on their systems than the parasites sometimes.

I agree danner, I bought a DIY fecal test just in case. I haven't felt the need to use it yet though. I am pretty sure I am paranoid because of how much I have read. ( Not a bad thing) I know the meds are really hard on their stomachs so I would want to avoid it if possible. Just pure curiosity is all, and i don't seem to be getting much response. I guess they just get them where they get them. I feel like if there is a red flag somewhere however we should be aware.

They tend to get them from feeders - crickets, worms, whatever. Crickets seem to be the primary culprit. I'm not sure why, though.
