worms

so i have been giving max mealworms..i know i know they are super bad and all this but they dont seem to bother him as hes very regular but i really want to go to something different as hes getting older hes 3 and a half and im afraid the older he gets the harder things will get for him. right now im getting 100 at the pet store i trust for 5 dollars i have asked about other worms but they are soo tiny that when i give them to him he just looks at me like really mom? im suppose to eat that tiny thing. i want to know if anyone has any trusted sites that have proven to be safe like no parasites and such i have mad max since he was 7 months old and he has never had a parasite so i dont wanna start now and thats my major concern with the online sellers. so any helpful sites will be greatly appreciated

Have you tried super worms? They look pretty much the same as mealworms but are much better for them. I get mine from www.beardeddragon.co and also greatlakeshornworm.com and haven't had any issues with either. I buy from a local reptile shop every once awhile too when I can't wait for a shipment, so it might be worth checking around your area to see if any shops carry them.

ya he likes super worms petco here carries them but oh my are they spendy they want 6 bucks for 50 and when you get them home theres only 20 alive

Does it HAVE to be worms? If so, what about Phoenix worms? they are like wax worms, but healthier.. I am not sure how big they get though beacause my little Maxi is still eating smaller things. If you can venture away from worms, try some dubia roaches. I know my beardie loves them.

but i just checked them out that a really good deal whats the dead ratio on them and how do you tell a super from a meal worm because that honestly looks just like what im feeding maxwell now but atlantis the store i go to calls them king worms and i dont think my landlord would be too thrilled about having cockroaches in the house lol they are already concerned with max that his food may be escaping
