Ok i have a few questions, let me start from the begining i had to bring my new dragon nxy to the vet today since i got her the week of thanksgiving all the way from washington she's been acting slugish i figured it was just relocation stress cause she never showed in stress marks are dark berds. Well its been a month no improvement so i brought her in for a fecal today and poor girl has high counts of coccidia, pinworms, and hookworms. :roll: (i feel like such a bad mommie i didnt bring her in sooner) but anyway since she has been in contact with my other two girls her age they are all on albon and pancur. Tonight they were all dosed and viv scrubed and rescrubed even though hubby say u can preform surgery in any one of my vivs at any time.(i have ocd and cleaning things is one of my biggest issues everything has to be disinfected. i drive him insane when i bleach the cups we drink out of long story lol ) anyway after their meds and soy yogurt they all got 30 min soaks in the tub( and tub got bleached lol) hands are raw at moment from all the scrubing. I noticed my radiant red was lil on the dark side today figured she need to poop so put her water a lil warmer and when she did go she had a small urrate and it was a lil on the yellow side normally shes my perfect poopie girl so i was a lil concerend (next part is gross) so i picked it out the water to look at it well when i did that it kinda felt like sand. it was on the gritty side. so my questions are what could be causing the nasty urrate? I read there is a few dragon on here dealing with the pancur and albon is it really that hard on all dragons right now mine seem to be eating fine, when should i start the babyfood? the vet said to give pancur every 7 days for 4 dose's does this sound right? and albon every day for 5 days? Any words of advice woud be greatly apperciated. Ive never had sick dragons all mine have always been heathly and parasite free. i know this comes from the breeder i got her from cause i raise all my feeders and everything is always scrubed clean. i feel like such a bad mommie right now its driving me nuts. uuugghhh

First off ... You Are Not A Bad Mommy !
Okay now we got that outta the way... lol
Yes that sounds right for the dosing... No need to start on any babyfoods as long as they are all eating right... Do keep on with the soy yogurt. Just feed them all normally as you have been doing..
Now, you really shouldn't be using bleach, it has fumes that can also affect dragons...
You can use Nolvasan, it isn't as harsh on either you or your pets, and will disinfect quite nicely... even for one with OCD... lol.

Thanks for answering so quickly, the only thing is what about the sandy urrate. I just feel so bad for my girls i just hope the meds dont hit them to hard.

are you soaking them in a bath 3-4 times a week ? Are they eating any veggies ?
How often are you offering calcium, and what kind, also which UVB do you have ?
How far is that above them ?


Are they all still housed together ? Can you get rubbermaid bins for each, with a 4' Reptisun 10.0 laid across all three bins, for uvb, and a house hold flood light in a dome fixture also above each close to the tube UVB ?
This way you can at least get them all separated, for fairly cheap.

the girls will be put back into their own vivs this weekend they each have a 6x2x2 viv, hubby and i and 2 kids had to move back to moms for 3 months was limited on space is why the r together now but will be seperate this weekend. They all have repti sun 10.0 and basking temps 105 ambient 95 cool side 80's. They all get baths everyother night and calcium everyother day its trex calcium plus. They get collards mustard turnip and kale greens with fresh pumpkin acorn sqauish and zucini daily. i rotate blueberries apple blackberries strawberries and kiwi every other day. they get supers and dubias twice a day about 10 each morning and evening. umm i think thats it if not just ask want the best for my childeren

Renee... hold back on those fruits... 1-2 times a week is all you should be offering them... Same with the Kale... Treats not staples, you understand... Other than that, it all looks good.
You'll have to keep them pretty clean, though I don't see that as a problem ( also suffers from OCD) If they are on tile, you can get a steam cleaner for drapes and do a weekly steam clean and wipe down with a dry towel ( change towel per enclosure) to get really deep cleaning...
That product I suggested will help out too.
Doing pretty good in my opinion... Gooood Mommy ! lol.

The only thing I might add is that my picky eaters will not eat anything cold, so we have to microwave a small portion of soy yoghurt or else it gets flung. My boyfriend still has babyfood on his wall from trying to feed it cold :roll: . We actually did bleach everything in the tank, at the instructions of the vet and two mods on here. However, after being bleached, everything was very thoroughly rinsed and then the wood furniture was also baked. If you can smell the bleach fumes, it means you havn't rinsed thoroughly enough. I do, however, completely understand the reluctance to use bleach. I have never used it with my girl (she's never had parasites) and would feel very conflicted about doing so. Good luck!

thanks for all the input. i did let the tank air for 30 min and double checked by making my mom climb in the viv and close doors to make sure you couldnt smell fumes. (shes lil compared to me lol im 5 10 shes 5ft) she fit really nice in 6ft viv loll she didnt find it funny i thought was halrious but anyway yah everything was rinsed all furniture has been takin out and changed for cleaned pieces their pretty mad that they didnt get their drift wood back yet still soaking and gonna bake tomorrow. gonna cut back on fruits and kale. they have tile so ill buy steamer first thing tomorrow if the streets arent flooded been getting a ton of rain the past few days and everything is under water. ill keep everyone posted on how they are doing and thanks agian for all the help. i love this site learn something new everynight :mrgreen:

well we are on day 2 of albon and so far i've had no problem giving them the meds they try to eat the seringes. Also they havent lost their apptite stlll eating their greens and supers. i feel so luck i was scared after reading how hard some of the other dragons were having with these meds. thanks for everyones advice ive had no more panic attacks
