worm sushi (for bearded dragons LOL)

Drake ate greens for the first time today I brought him home a few weeks ago and he had never eaten anything but crickets and occasionally romaine lettuce. He's rather picky. He's crazy for worms though so I figured maybe I could get him to eat greens wrapped around worms. I dusted some collard greens with calcium/D3, chopped them into strips and wrapped them tightly around superworms (use tongs!). He looked at it a little weird but as soon as he realized there was a superworm filled middle he didn't mind the side salad. He actually ate a nice sized leaf. I'm so excited to try different "sushi" wraps :lol: Hopefully this can help some of you who are also having trouble getting your beardies to eat greens, fruit etc!

Mine never eats his greens. But I don't think it would be real easy tying greens around a cricket. :laughing6:

Do you know if it helps "teach" them to eat the greens all on their own? Just wondering if this is something you have to keep up to get them to eat greens at all, or if they eventually kind of get the taste and start eating greens as greens-only?

Well it's only been a few days but yes he seems to enjoy them now. I wrapped some peaches (he's picky with fruit too) in collard greens this morning and he ate all of it! Sometimes I will just give him a worm and then, while he's chewing, sneak a piece into his mouth. It all just gets chomped down together LOL. I think he's finally beginning to understand that greens are food too

That is really cool, and could be very effective if successful. If I get a beardie that doesn't like his veggies, I will try it! I really want sushi, but it can have parasites.
