Worm Man Problems?!?!?

Yes, I had a problem with wormman too. I ordered Phoenix Worms through him, I think it was a Monday, so I should've gotten them Thursday I believe. He said he was all out of the size I ordered and they would be in within a couple days. Well, I didn't get them till 2 weeks later, and I told him not to send them the time they were sent because I was out of town. Well, of course he sent them anyway and I came home to a couple tubs of dead PW's. He wouldn't give me my money back or give me a credit towards my next order. After I complained I didn't hear back from him. What a Jerk.... :banghead:
 
I never had a problem with them when I ordered crickets from them some months ago. However, once I switched over to superworms, I made the mistake of buying bedding from them too. I came to find out about a month after recieving everything that the bedding they sent me was infested with the eggs of mediterranean flour moths. By the time I realized that I had a problem on my hands, hundreds of tiny caterpillars had gotten loose all over my apartment. I ended up killing 30 or so moths a night for around a month trying to make sure that they didn't get into my food and spread. I tried to contact them regarding the situation but never recieved a response or any kind of acknowledgement. Long story short, I will never order from them again.

Holy Crap! I would have freaked! I'm a knitter, so Moths would have run me out of my own home. I would have to burn my place before I trusted my giant stash of wool yarn! AAHH! What a disaster.

I'm glad I never ordered anything from him, I almost did, once...

I HATE moths! They're too small to be feeders and they get into everything that's edible. :angry5:

Try freezing any seeds/feeder bedding for a day, and you should be able to prevent another outbreak. They can hitch a ride from anywhere, even the best companies.

I've stopped ordering from wormman.com recently because whatever I want to buy always seems to be out of stock. As of today: solder grubs; stock status 0, butterworms; stock status 0, mealworms; stock status 0.

I've ordered from them successfully in the past, and got prompt customer service and healthy worms every time. They have some fantastic info on mealworm breeding on their website, and Ken Chiarela (sp?), who's the head of wormman.com, or an associate always answered my emails quickly and informatively.

I guess they must have something going on in the company, like maybe they got bought out, or trouble with the employees, or trouble with management, or parasite infestations, or a fire, or money troubles, or something. I heard from a local pet store that there's some kind of "national mealworm shortage" going on now, so maybe there's some kind of parasite going around or maybe more people have been getting lizards and ordering worms, so the companies are short on stock... I dunno. It's just it's a shame to see a website like this go downhill, especially since they stock such a wide variety of food types for herps.

UPDATE: No worms still, no phone calls, no emails....ongoing from August 23rd. God do i love crappy companies with crappy customer service!!!! :banghead: :banghead:

I have a feeling that they walked away from the business. I called my credit card company and they are on the "automatic refund" list. Meaning if you call to stop payment on a charge made with them it is automatic, there is no dispute time.

Wow, that's really irresponsible. And incredibly stupid. I don't know anyone who wants to have that type of up-close-and-personal relationship with their credit card company (having their business be on a credit card "watch list"). It would have been so much better for them to just put on their website that they were having technical difficulties or whatever, and would be back online shortly, or just stop accepting orders altogether from the get-go. Once word gets around, which it will because the dragon community seems pretty tight-knit :lurk: , I don't think anyone will want to order from them again. Such a shame... :?
 
Check out the worm man site for those of you who didn't!!! We FINALLYYY got our answer...they are under new ownership. If you click on the "under new ownership" notification it brings you to reptilesites.com and gives you an explanation of what is going on. I plan on trying to contact them soon about my order to see what they have to say or if they can give an estimated time. Hopefully things will get better and I can order from them again...they had great prices and shipping time was quick since they were one state over. Goodluck everyone!!

Anyway, I figure that something must be going on. Thanks, courtney1185, for the update on wormman.com.

Still, I'll go with phoenixworms.com. If wormman.com is reading this, you may want to fix the cancellations as well.

I read from the gecko forum they went out of business, but the website is still up and taking orders. Kindda makes you wonder....

I don't need to check out the site. My negative experience with them happened way before this thread was started. I have since found alternative suppliers that in spite of being farther away, get my orders to me faster than they should be able to. 'Nuff said. :wink:

I just want my money back!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :angry5: They could have let their customers know what was going on instead of not saying anything and not answering emails and phone calls. Im betting they lost alot of customers.

If you used a credit card, call the credit card company and tell them you would like to dispute the charge as you have not received a product there is nothing to pay for. Even if it does become a dispute, they won't have a leg to stand on. No shipping info to prove they sent something and something was delivered to your address, and if they "were just about to send it", it cancels.

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!

Mirage entered brumation yesterday, I'm gonna miss hanging out with my little guy.
