My 7 month old beardie is growing like mad, eats non-stop, and has totally normal regular bowel movements, but there's one thing I'm kind of concerned/confused about. She won't eat salad. At all. I've tried tons of fruits and veggies already but she won't even go near it. I give her moist pellets for bearded dragons that are supposedly specially formulated so that she doesn't need salad or live feeders on top of that, but I'm a little bit skeptical. She eats these pellets enthusiastically but also loves live feeders so I give her those every day.
Now my other concern is that I've always read that you're supposed to feed them as much as they can eat in 10 minutes, or until they lose interest in the food, but she has never lost interest in food (unless it's salad). Today she ate apx. 20 pellets, 10 superworms, and 40 crickets and still sat around by her dish waiting for more. I feed her 3 times a day but I'm wondering if that's not enough. Does anyone think I should add a fourth 10-minute feed in the day? Or extend feeding times to longer than 10 minutes? Or just feed her as much as she wants until she loses interest? (yikes, that sounds expensive!) And any suggestions on the salad topic? By the time she's an adult she's supposed to eat way more salad than protein, so what do I do? Let me know what you guys think. Thanks!
