10 week old Zilla eats crickets and devours phoenix worms. He'll also eat squash with no problem, however, anything green is another story. I've tried collard greens, mustard greens, dandelion and turnip greens. Today I put a worm in his greens and he ate the worm and a piece of greens. Caught on quick to my trick and ignored the second worm. Is it time to get tough and take away crickets and worms for a day or two and see if he gets hungry enough to eat greens? Still too young to worry about greens? The crickets are all gut loaded with the greens I've offered.

Hi. Little ones don't eat greens very often. Mine didn't start eating greens till they were 8 months or so. Just keep offering it every day. :D

mine ate his greens np when he was smaller ( now hes 16 inches ) its quite recently that i've had an issue with him not eating his greens.... try endive mine loves it its light green and comes in bunches that look like lettuce kinda but smaller also maybe chicory ?? mine is doing okay with chicory as well just make sure to pair it with something else. try giving it to him every second day maybe ?? and see if that helps at alli'm still trying to figure out why mine is being stubborn atm too

good luck !!

I don't mean to piggy back on this post, but I am having the same problem.

Would it be safe to alternate a day of greens and a day of feeders for a juvie? Mine will take a few bites of greens when i change greens, i.e. collards for kale, bok choy for kale, etc. But after that, he leaves them alone.

Hmm not sure I've heard of ppl doing that for their adult dragons but never for a juvenile onfourtinarely mine has decided not to eat anything now .... I've been force feeding him baby food and I got him go eat one worm yesterday it could be a weather change thing but mine has never been this stubborn from the time i
I had him as a baby he ate his veggies no problem what's your lighting like ?? has he been slug ish ??

I have a 100w basking bulb, a reptisun 10.0 UVB bulb and a CHE. He has not been sluggish at all. He spends most of his day hanging out in his basking area, head up, checking things out. He eats 20-30 crickets per feeding but rarely touches his greens.

Today I noticed that he stayed darker, longer into the morning. Is that a sign of a shed or the weather changing?

Maybe a sign of weather not sure drayce was dark all day apparently and didn't brighten up till I got home from work ( according to my bf) he hasn't shed in a while though ... So could be a toss up for both its good though that he's not slug ish and the uvb is the one that I was told to get :) I had a 5 before for when he was smaller .... Maybe try putting some crickets or worms in his salad that worked on mine for the first two feelings then he stopped eating both all together and won't touch his crickets he won't even eat superworms and he loves those keep an eye on him keep trying new greens too see if maybe he just doesn't like the ones he's seen so far haha good luck !!

It's almost gotten comical. He'll eat squash right out of my hand without hesitation. If I put a green on the squash he'll stare at me. Take the green off and he'll eat it. I've been mixing greens with squash knowing he has to be getting some greens. Although you can tell he scatters the greens around to try and get at squash. I'll keep messing with different greens. Since he's eating the squash, I'm not going to panic and keep working at it through these early ages. Wife says he looks like me when I pick the carrots out my salad.

It's almost gotten comical as he'll eat squash right out of my hand but attach a green to it and he'll stare at me until I remove the green. I'm not going to panic yet. Just going to keep mixing up the greens while we work through this young age (3 months). I know as long as he's pulling squash out if his green mix, he's getting some. The wife says he looks like me when I pick carrots out of my salad.

That's cute mine eats his squash from a spoon while I'm holding him like a baby lol but of I put it with his food he won't touch it .... I'm just worried for the reason y he's not eating his veggies he's about 6 months and he hasn't had any issues eating his veggies up until now so it's a little concerning

I just set Swordtail's timer for his bath and paused it so I could actually fill his soaking bowl up and he crawled over my phone and canceled the timer 🤣
Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
