When I gave a group of hatchlings their third meal I witnessed a toe nip. There are 5 in a 100L tub. Should I break them into smaller groups? It didn't do any damage it was a bite and that's it but I don't want it to become worse :(

I don't have experience with hatchlings but if I saw them acting aggressively toward eachother I'd probably either separate them or give them more space. Maybe they were just acting up a little in an isolated incident but it's also possible that they're finding the need to compete for resources which could cause a longer term issue.

Sometimes it's one specific bad apple baby that is nipping, so if you can identify that one you might want to set it up alone. If the babies are all trying to nip, be sure to up the feedings and keep lots of greens around the tank. Sometimes you can put in an entire collard, turnip or mustard leaf wet in the tub, and the babies seem to munch on it through the day, hide under it, etc. It's like something to eat and a play thing at the same time. :)

Sometimes you'll get nips no matter what, but it doesn't happen all the time.

So far it's an isolated incident, all the babies are doing well otherwise and no harm came to the tootsie of the one bitten. I will try the leaf idea to see if it helps out overall anyways :D

Cut a branch off a tree with lots of little twigs growing in all different directions and put that in the tub. Gives them lots of places to climb and get away from each other.

I just set Swordtail's timer for his bath and paused it so I could actually fill his soaking bowl up and he crawled over my phone and canceled the timer 🤣
Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
