With D3 or without!?!?

I was wondering which multi-vitamin is better? With the D3 or without D3???? A quick response would be greatly appreciated since I'm out shopping right now. I had the kind with D3 but can only find the kind without at the store. Thanks!

Depends on the type of UVB you are using...

If you're using tube UVB such as the ReptiSun 10.0, you will want Calcium WITH D3. If you're using a mercury vapor bulb such as the MegaRay, you will want calcium withOUT D3 as the high UVB output in mercury vapor bulbs will allow your dragon to produce enough D3 on his own.

D3 is an ingredient within the calcium dust that is activated by UVB rays to allow the bearded dragon to absorb more calcium than they can on their own during digestion. I ALWAYS USE D3.

When I was at the pet store I was going to pick up some calcium powder because all I've been using is the multi-vitamin that has calcium in it already. But the guy at the store said that as long as I have a uvb bulb that my beardies get their calcium from the light so that I shouldn't waste my money on the calcium powder and that you shouldn't give your beardie too much calcium. I used to feed Elvis Phoenix worms but after he had his first super he refused to eat anymore of the phoenix worms. I know that they were full of calcium and that the supers don't have as much. So my question is.....

Do I need a multi-vitamin and calcium powder if I'm using a uvb bulb?

I was just using the multi-vitamin with the D3 but when I picked some up the other day I got the kind without D3 so I guess I will be going to exchange it.

My other question is.....

Can you give your beardie too much calcium?
