wish there was a way to subscribe without getting emails

Is there anyway they can make it so that we can subscribe to topics without getting email notifications? Most forums you can click for instant, daily, weekly, or no email notifications when you subscribe to a topic. Personally I like to just log on to a forum and go to my user control panel and see if there are any new posts on my subscribed topics. I usually only put email notifications on topics that I am waiting for specific answers for.

Sorry, but that's the way the software we use works. It doesn't have built-in support for digest delivery, that I'm aware of. That's more of an email discussion list method that one some of the forum software out there supports.

You can simply make a filter to send emails from BD.org to a certain folder and mark it read

One thing I would suggest is to filter based on the email subject, and not all BD.org emails. ... that is, unless you also do not want new PM notifications. The notifications for when people reply on topics have a subject that begins with "Topic reply notification". They come from [email protected], although, I've been meaning to change that to something like [email protected], as people sometimes reply in email to PMs (which I've never understood since they need to go to the website to read the PM).

Yeah, I wrote a reply that included that information but when I hit submit I got a database error :/ So I didn't have time to retype it

I really don't care to get any email notifications from any forums. I check the forums when I am interested, so I don't mind filtering all of the emails from the forum. All of the other forums I visit, I am able to turn off all email notifications except for this one.

and setting "Allow administrators/users to contact me via email" to no?

yeah but that doesn't effect the email notifications for subscribed topics. If you want topics to show up in your user control panel you have to hit subscribe and when you subscribe it automatically sends emails.

Ok, so in yahoo mail, I added a filter to filter emails from recipients containing "beardeddragon.org" to a separate folder. I will see if it works. I don't know how to automatically mark the emails as read though?

Allegedly yahoo doesn't have that feature D: I use gmail and it has it, that's weird that it wouldn't have that.

it's ok, my gmail address is for business stuff, yahoo is for forums and other etc stuff. The filter seems to be working and it doesn't pop up notifications on my phone for emails that go into the filtered folder so I am happy
