Will this UVB bulb work?

Hey guys, I am getting ready to get my first beardie, I was wondering if this UVB bulb would work for him. If you mounted the fixture inside then yes, however personally i like the Reptisun T5 HO 10.0 bulbs rather than the T8 bulbs since the T5 HO 10.0 is a stronger bulb. You can get a 30" or 22" reptisun T5 HO 10.0 bulb for a cheap price on amazon along with a good fixture. Make sure the fixture is reflective.

However if you mean the bulb inside that fixture then no, zilla brands are pretty untrustworthy when it comes to lighting. Go with a reptisun tube light or a arcadia tube light.

You should read some of the lighting & enclosure discussions on this board. I believe the Zilla uvb's are no good. You might want to consider a 40 gallon tank since they grow so fast. Don't buy a kit, most of the stuff is useless. Please don't do any kind of sand, it's deadly. Petco runs a 1$ a gallon sale fairly often.

I agree that starting with a 40g breeder tank is a better idea and may work out to be cheaper in the long run. Combine that with the T5 10.0 (22'' bulb w/24'' fixture is fine) and you should be in good shape for at least a year vs having to upgrade the tank size and lighting in 6 months.
