Will this be good for the crickets?

My beardy's appetite is increasing & I have to go to buying my hoppers online so it is cheaper. I got a bin for them and would like your opinion if it will be alright for them. The two things sitting inside it right now are soda carriers from McDonalds, made out the same material as the egg crate things.

I will put some potato, greens, maybe apple pieces, and Fluker's orange cubes in with them. I have purchased just 500 for right now, will it be alright to wait until they are gone to clean it agian?

You'll want to cover the holes in the handles of the bin with something... duct tape maybe. Is that screen Aluminum mesh? If not, might be worth swapping it out for Aluminum as I think the crickets can eat through the other stuff. Search youtube for "cricket bin setup" or something, you'll find a video tutorial most likely.

Nice use of the drink holders!
The bin should be fine, but you may want to consider sealing he holes in the handle area with tape or sealant o some sort. Also, you may want to consider cutting the top completely above the mesh to allow for more ventilation. Trust me, crickets can stink when adequate ventilation is unavailable.
I use lids from butter, sour cream, etc... containers to put chow, water crystals and veggies on. I find hat it keeps the space cleaner healthier and easier to collect crickets in. Other than that, the more climbing space you can provide the better. It makes up for any lack of floor space. If you stack the drink holders sideways, put a small piece on top that will fit in your bag or cup you shake them in. You'll find out real quick that under the top piece is the best spot to find a cricket....
Empty toilet paper rolls and paper towel rolls are also big hits when stood right side up....

Good luck!

Listen to the posts above they have good info in them. I just wanted to chime in and tell you to keep the wet stuff away from the drink holders. If they get wet you run the risk of mold. Mold will wipe out your crickets in no time at all.

Thanks for all your comments. I didn't notice those other holes until I posted the pics; will cover them up before the crix arrive and will have to replace the mesh with metal mesh. Thanks again.

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
Mirage entered brumation yesterday, I'm gonna miss hanging out with my little guy.
