Hello fellow beardie lovers! I am new to this site..still need to post an intro :)

My fiance and I have 2 female beardies, Vadar(thought she was a he..lol) is about 5 or 6 months old(not sure) and Padame is about 3 1/2 months old. They are both in their own "homes" :) We would LOVE for them to be able to share a home though. we have only put them together (totally supervised and only for a minute) and Padme "puffed" and didn't seem happy about it.

Do you think we will ever be able to house them together? At the very least we would like to have them out and "social" at the same time.

i would never ever house more than 1 beardie togther male or female as for socializing sometimes that might work but u have to keep an eye on them to make sure 1 dosent become domonate of the other one and always remeber just because there females dosent mean they will not fight but i would never house 2 beardies together unless u are breeding and even then its only until they mate then u take them out. bearded dragons are very docile and they do not need any cage mates just owners that love them and play with them they usually dont like other beardies

They don't need to get along with each other. They see each other as competition. On will most likely dominate the other one and possibly hurt or kill the other one. Its best to keep them seperated or rehome one of them.

I thought maybe because they are both females and both still fairly young (about 4 and 5 months) that maybe with time or "practice" being around each other that eventually they coukd be together. Rehoming either of them is of course not an option..they are our babies! They both have their own custom built tanks but we hope to "connect" the tanks if they can get along! :)

an advice on how to get them to like each other

I have to agree with the above posters. Beardies only come together in the wild to mate and then go their seperate ways. Putting them together is always a risk. There have been to many stories that I have read about beardies attacking and maiming or killing each other for me to even risk it. I have 2 beardies 1 male and one female, right now I am having a itme out of both,if my male sees the female he head bobs, arm waves, and his beard gets black. My female won't eat,has a rare head bob and is trying to run herself crazy, one side of the viv to the other, not worth the risk in my opinion.

They're not like dogs and cats, they can't be "trained" to get along. Best idea is just keep them apart so that they're happy and safe. If you did try it at best you would have upset dragons, worst case is one or both hurt or kill each other.

DO NOT TRY THIS, THEY ARE NOT LIKE DOGS,CATS OR HUMANS, THEY CANNOT BE TRAINED TO BE TOGHETHER. YOU MAY THINK THAT THIS WILL WORK. READ THIS STORY ON WHAT HAPPEND TO THIS PERSON FOR INTRODUCING 2 BEARDIES TOGHETHER viewtopic.php?f=1&t=118048

There was a person on Kijiji a few months back. I was selling our old tank and they msg'd me stating they wanted it to house two beardies. I msg'd them and explained the dangers, and they still went ahead. About a mth later I seen the same person posting looking for another tank, lol, explaining how they now have to seperate thier beardies... they wouldn't stop fighting :(

The reason I thought it could work is that the guy I bought them from has his 2 females together and they actually like to be that way! you will see them laying on each other and actually getting along. I guess there are some rare cases that it works!

Laying on each other is a sign of dominance. One dragon is getting al the UVB and heat blocking it form the other. Think about it,if a lady was laying out in the sun and someone put a blanket over her would she get a tan?

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
