I've been googling this question and have found no useful answer, so I figure i should ask my knowledgeable friends here at BD.org!

I wish to have a friend over this weekend and we were going to smoke my hookah in my room. We will separated from the viv by my queen sized bed (although if my friend blows smoke in that direction Scorch could be exposed). Would that be harmful to her health? She is in a 30 gallon tank with a screen lid.

(we obviously will not be purposefully blowing it in her face or anything. I would never do anything that I think even MIGHT affect her health and wellbeing. I heard somewhere that smoke (tobacco, marijuana, etc) is harmful to reptiles but I'm not sure of any specifics)

Thanks!

EDIT: I thought I should make this a little more specific... we will be smoking only shisha out of the hookah. So tobacco smoke is what i am curious about.

Tobacco smoke is as harmful to reptile as it is to humans but I doubt one day of smoking in your room will cause any troubles. Can you open a window or place a small fan to help dissipate the smoke faster?

Well, it's 2nd hand smoke... I'm sure once in a while isn't going to be the most terrible thing your beardie could encounter... it's not like you're climbing into her viv and smoking there. I don't smoke any longer, but when I have company over I don't require they go outside to smoke, I don't feel it's necessary to make my friends feel outsided. Every once and a while Falkor is exposed to 2nd hand smoke, but it's not direct, he doesn't take a drag... I guess to each is own. Good Luck though.

Yes I do have a small oscillating fan in my room, so I might turn that on. Thanks for the responses! I had a feeling it wouldn't be the end of the world, and obviously I dont smoke hookah all that often. So I guess I'll go ahead with it! :)

i agree! if you took so much time to research it then why not take the time to
A: Relocate him for the night
B: Not smoke in the room @ all
C: Open up a window to vent as well as using the fans

Other than the molasses..What's in that mix ? I know there are several different mixes out there...
However.. If you gotta smoke, regardless of what it is, do it not in the same room as your pets, children, or asthmatics ;)
Janie.
Uncommon sense here :)

Treat your animals with the same care you would human children.
There are reasons it isnt sound to smoke ANYTHING in the presence of children, it isnt any diff with animals.

Why not smoke outside?? Regardless if ur not deliberately blowing smoke at your dragons immediate surroundings, toxins do linger around in our air for a long time after the festivities have ended.

Smoke outside. Or in your garage. Problem solved.

I just set Swordtail's timer for his bath and paused it so I could actually fill his soaking bowl up and he crawled over my phone and canceled the timer 🤣
Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
