My brother fed Carrot a hornworm that was way too big for her. It wasn't a huge one, but it wasnt that small either. Carrot is 6 inches long. She had trouble getting it down so my brother came and got me. I helped her get it down by petting her throat and she seems to be okay now....will she be okay? I know its probably just an overreactive new beardie mom question, but I'm so worried about her. Thanks in advance

Hello,

Well, you are going to have to watch her for impaction. Hornworms are soft bodied feeders, however, a 6 inch dragon should never be fed anything that large. Their intestines are way too small, but they can also choke on something that size, also.
I can't guarantee that she will not suffer from impaction, but you can take proactive steps to helping her. I would begin giving some oral fluids daily, along with a bath. You could also give some canned pumpkin, & some squash baby food, along with 1-2 drops of olive oil mixed in with the food. You can give 1-2 mls of food, daily. That has fiber in it, so maybe it will help to move things through more efficiently.

Let us know how she is doing.

Thank you so much!!! I did as you said, rushed off to the supermarket to get baby food, and fed it to her with olive oil. She loved it! Then I bathed her and let her run around. She just pooped in her cage :) I'm so relieved lol

I just set Swordtail's timer for his bath and paused it so I could actually fill his soaking bowl up and he crawled over my phone and canceled the timer 🤣
Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
