I recently measured my 20 month old (1.67 yrs) hyper orange beardie and he was only about 14 inches. I got him from a bearded dragon breeder that was selling him and his cage, lights, etc. because he was now going to breed cresties. He's in a 40 gallon breeder. He eats around 10 crickets and has collard, turnip, mustard, dandelion greens, and butternut squash every day. He also loves strawberries, and eats them occasionally. For his entire life (including with me) he has had a compact (not coil) uvb bulb over mesh with a hole in it to let the light through. I was reading other forums and now know that 14 in. isn't the normal. If I replace the compact bulb with the ReptiSun 10.0 fluorescent tube and cut holes in the mesh for the light to get through, do you think my baby will grow more and turn out okay? Any suggestions in terms of diet or lighting are welcome.
