Will glass bar in middle of tank block out UVB?

hello everyone,

I recently finished setting up my Beardies tank... his name's Rhino. We're going to pick him up in March :) He's a 2 yr old male... quite large but i'm not sure exactly how long. This is the tank the current owners have him in:

However i'm buying him separately and so I have my own tank here. It's a 50gallon+/200L with 3 glass panels around 20cm long each. 1 on the left side, 1 on the right and one in the middle. There's about 33cm between each of them. My problem is that if I mount the UVB (It's a Arcadia long tube with a fitting/light hood) inside the tank, it will be way to close to the basking spot and other rocks I have in there, but I'm afraid that if I out it on top of the tank, the middle glass bar will stop some of the UVB rays getting to Rhino. I heard if it's too close they could get blind, but too far and the UVB rays won't reach him. Right now I have a log that's perfectly in place and one part of it is 6" close to the UVB where no glass bar is (on the right side). Will this be sufficient? On the left there aren't any basking spots close to the UVB or basking bulb (100w CHE on the rightish side of the tank).

any help would be appreciated :)

A photo would help, but if the bar is narrow you'll only loose a little bit of the light. Obstruction of UVB light works similar to visible light, except things like glass are "solid" or opaque to UVB. Imagine if you had a bit of wood or plastic there instead. You will loss the light just right there but not else where, if that makes sense.

Do you have the T8 or T5?

Hello,
Unfortunately I'm not sure wether it is T5 or T* But thanks for your help. I think it is ok if the UVB doesn't cover 100% of the tank... he at least has 2 places to reach within 20cm of the light.

T5 are a skinny little bulb, 5/8" in diameter - they sould go further away
T8 are 1" in diameter - they should go like you you have it now

As long as he has spots that are appropriatly close and he uses them, it doesn't need to be 100%, correct.

I just set Swordtail's timer for his bath and paused it so I could actually fill his soaking bowl up and he crawled over my phone and canceled the timer 🤣
Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
