Will female bearded dragons eat their own eggs?

My 2 year old beardie laid her eggs today (I know this because she is half the size she was earlier today, and she filled her burrow in) but when i went to uncover them to put in the incubator; i found no eggs. I was kind of upset, and can't stop thinking that i somehow didn't see them. The only other thing i can think of is if she ate them, but I can't find any information about that type of behavior. Any ideas on what might have happened? Note: this is not her first clutch. She laid eggs last year and those did not go missing.

I've never heard of it, & they seem very protective of them initially - not even my males tried to get to the eggs, but guess if they were hungry enuf..... You'd also imagine if she ate them all she'd be REALLY fat! Wasn't a 'phantom pregnancy' by chance, or a false alarm?

She definitely had eggs in her belly. She was a good deal slimmer when she exited and covered up her burrow. I thought that it was strange as well, and never heard of them doing such a thing. She also had food available to her yesterday which she didn't eat. Maybe they were in there and I didn't see them, but I really searched because I couldn't believe that they weren't in there.

check other parts of the lay box they often use different spots and can decide to lay their clutch in a few places. look around carefully and i wish you the best of luck onfinding them.
