Will be gone for 4.5 days.

Im leaving tonight to visit my parents for 4.5 days, 3 hours away. So, I was wondering what do I do with my beardie? He is over 2 years old and has gone longer without food but that was his choice. Lately he has been eating a large amount of salad everyday and I dont want him to feel like he is hungry while I am gone. I can't leave food in there or bacteria would grow. What should I do? I could take him with me, he doesn't seem to mind the travel but he would have to be in a 10 gallon tank which sounds like a terrible 4 days for him. =<

Hi there....you could leave a large bowl of greens, they will not get moldy if they're not super wet, they will dry up and be crispy treats. You can also leave a bowl of pellet food. He may not love it, but if he got really hungry, he would have something there. Ideally it would be best to have someone checking on him. You would also want to have someone's phone number that could get over there in case you had an emergency and were delayed getting back. But I think the BEST option is to buy a large plastic tote, bring along one basking log and a heat lamp. He will be fine set up like that.
