Just wanted to preface this by saying I haven't tried this, I am just curious if it would work in theory.
OK, I know wild caught bugs are bad. Especially hornworms if they have eaten off a tomato plant. Also, if you buy a live plant to feed you dragon they say to replant it and wait a few weeks for any pesticides to wear off.
So, my hypothetical question is: Could you do the same with hornworms? We have a ton that are eating my husbands hot pepper plants (none as of yet on my tomatoes), right now we toss them on the driveway for the birds to munch on. But would it be possible to catch them and start feeding them another food source and have the tomato or other potential toxins worked out of their systems and then use them as feeders?
It may be more trouble than it's worth but I was perusing pinterest and got to thinking.
Anyway, sorry for rambling and thanks for any input!
