Wierd Behavior

Hello 2 days ago i buy rock outcrop (Large) to set basking spot for my 4 months old bearded dragom.When i come home i take old basking spot from terrarium and dezinfect rock outcrops and put it in terrarium set basking spot temps and all other things.So i wait few minutes than hours and she didnt bask on her new basking spot she stay most of the time on her cool end is this normal mybe she need get used to it i put her few times on basking spot without success she sit under her light for like 2 mints and than go away i hope she will start basking soon i need force her to sit under a basking light so she can digests now is a 3 day and she still dont wana go on her new basking spot temps are 95-105 i see her only few times she climb on a basking spot and lick it and after 10 sec she leave basking spot and she go back on a cool end of terrarium dont know whats going on im concerned.

Is this new rock structure higher than what you had beforehand? With what device are you measuring these temperatures?

Immediately I thought the new outcrop was too hot since she was only basking for two minutes.
or
she is just getting used to the new decor.

Yes its higher but only for inch or two i set temps with temp gun i buy temp gun online today i put her on rock few times and i think that she made progresss now she stay under basking light for like 10mint i hope she will start bask on her own soon.Most of the time she stay on her old places she sitck with fake rocks on her cool end of terrarium because i chgane only hot side of terrarium cool end is sitll the same mybe she feels more secure on cool end of terrarium because is still the same?

10 minutes of basking will not do. This is going to be a process but she'll be very thankful in the end. I suggest you still lower her basking temperatures a few degrees and test the results. If you have it set at 110, then raise the light & try 107-108. See if your beardie is more comfortable then. If shes basks longer, then great. If she doesn't, try it again the next day and lower it to about 105-106. If there is no apparent change, then she may just need some time to adjust to the new decor.

Also, are you holding the temp gun about two inches from the surface? I read that this is the best way to get an accurate reading.

i dont think rising a lamp works but she shead her botm jaw xD and she will shead her bodyin in 2-3 days skin from body will fall off can shedding play part in this non basking period??Because she eating and she is actvie i think she is healthy or mybe its better do to a Fecal test i didnt do it i got her now for 3 months.Im more concerned with every day basking spot is from plastick its posible she dont like it i see few times she slip on a basking rock she dont have good grip on plastick surface.Befro i go in store and buy this plastick fake rock baskign spot she was on her old basking spot a wooden branch mybe se dont like plastick surface or she is in schoc because of new basking spot?Wierd think is she wana go to a basking spot she came on a half of terarium than stares at basking spot for few sec and than go back i think she is not sure what is going on i think she ask her self ''Wtf is this **** in my terrarium :lol: i think i will go back on my cool end'' .

She could just be adjusting, I suppose. If she can't comfortably lay on the new spot then yes that can possibly discourage her from basking. Just keep track and get back to me soon with an update.

I wasted some mony she dont like plastick surface fake rock basking spot is out i put a old wood brench in and she immediately start basking .I think i wil go in forest or somewhere and tray to find new cool branch or mybe a rock.

Yeah sometimes you just gotta take the financial hit lol. It's better off for her and that's all that matters. I always comb the beach around here during the spring/summer to find new basking branches. You'll really save money that way. If you do, definitely make sure you sanitize everything you put in her terrarium.

I clean the debris off the wood and bake it in the oven at 325 for about 30 minutes.

I know you're supposed to let the rocks soak in a bleach solution and you can look around the threads for the exact ratio.

Its still wierd she bask only at morning i think is thins normal??she tsart bask 8:00 till araund 12:00 i will go in forest or i will bo fake rock plat from by myself with styropor dude can shedding play part in this non baskin period??Mybe she want more moisture for easy shedding the cool end have more moisture is this posible??

I doubt there's more moisture on one end over the other but yes, shedding can play a role in it. When my girl is shedding she will eat less, and thus, bask less. Does yours bask after she eats?

befor this porblem yes she basking almost all day and she was always on basking spot after lunch i hope she willl shed her body soon and hope this problem will be solved.I think she is fine shee poop normal she digests food.

She stay for abauth 3h on her hot side of terrarium when sh ewoke up than she go on a cool end and stey there all the time.She still dont wana bask on her own if u put her under a basking light she stay and bask but she just dont wana climb on basking spot on her own this is going now for 1 week now for few days i see lack in apetit im really concerned temps ok right dont know why she dont wana bask she stick with her cool end most of the time she is only 4 months old to young for brumation and this friday i will take her poop on fecal tests plzz and help im concerned.

I feed her 4x every day 1x green early in the morrning than she got 3x circket she eat araund 30 crcikets per day i dust her crickets every day and onc a week i put vitamins on her green.Shee poop normal.(Today she eat only 10 crickets and greens and she still didnt poop.Yestrday she eat 17 crcikets and greens.)

She is 4 months and 1 week old she will shed can shedd play part in this wierd behvior??

If you want to use the new basking rock..try putting a washcloth on it so she has a good grip on it and feels safer being on it, I did this with both of mine till they got used to it and it worked out great! Part of the problem could be her UVB light being a reptiglo..they need the reptisun 10.0. The reptiglo is known to cause loss of appetite, lethargy, eye problems and other things,

Well if she is going to the bathroom and eating normally then I think you're okay. I am assuming she is still in shed. As mentioned before, yes, shedding can be a factor. When my girl goes into shed she likes to mope around and gets agitated easily. I just leave her be. I'll hand feed her some greens, bath her, and handle her for a few minutes day but for the most part I just leave her alone.

The Exoterra bulbs you're using could also be a problem in the long run. I had a ReptiGlo for about a month before I found this site and immediately changed it up to a reptisun 10.0. I don't know for sure but I am assuming the problems are not just limited to the reptiglo and could be an issue with the SolarGlo's as well. Your best bet is to find a thread with that specific topic.

If i change reptiglo 10.0 with reptisun 10.0 can i sitll use reptiglo 2.0 and solar glo in my terrarium in combination with reptisun 10.0 and is reptiglo 8.0 good for bearded dragons? i found out on intrnet for reptiglo 8.0 in my country pet stores have only exoterra stuff i dont wana order from intrnet so is reptiglo 8.0 ok mybe problem is too much uvb is this posible i have solar glo + neon uw bulds??Dont know whats going on im most of the day at work i have free weekend adn i think i will sit all day in my room and watch her routine mybe im just paranoid she whill shed and mybe she is wierd only because of shedding i see her puff her doby few times today she wana burst her skin off if she will be still wierd after shedd i will buy reptisun 10.00 for sure.When i go on work she eat araund 15 cickets and this morning when i was home 10 so this is 25 crcikests i think she fine.Im paranoid i dont wana hurt my beardie so i will watch her and i will see what happen.
