Why PM's go into the Outbox instead of being sent

Hi,

I don't know what I'm doing wrong. PM's are going into an Outbox instead of being sent. I'm assuming the outbox is for drafts? But I don't see an option to send them out of there. Help please!

I think they stay in the outbox until they are opened by the recipient
