why isnt he shedding? is he just becoming a teen? help!!!

Hey everyone I have a bearded dragon named Poopsie I've had him for six months now im still kinda new at this (but do note that when i got Poopsie he was a little older not a baby but not a teen either.) Somewhere near the end of July he stopped shedding & is displaying behavior ive never seen him do such as the head bob hes also becoming a little moody & won't play the games he used to like. We are now in August & he's still not shedding. Is he just heading into his teen years? Because I know as they get older the shedding process slows down a bit & their personality changes a little. He has also been getting tired really early his bedtime is 8:00 pm but he gets tired way before that I will sometimes find him curled up in a corner in his terrium half awake with a bored tired look on his face so I take him out to play but he just sits there to tired to move ( this MAY be my fault because Poopsie & I USED TO take mid day naps & he might be so used to it that hes tired during the day :| ) Anyway what do you guys think do you think he's just coming of age where he's tired,moody,& shedding slows down? Or do you think theirs something wrong because if he's not shedding he's not growing... Do you think he could be dwarf? He's a orange dragon either hypo or something else but I don't THINK either breed has dwarf effects. Anyway (sorry for getting off track) please answer PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE it would help a lot.

Try leaving him alone a bit; the "tired and bored" curling up in a corner that you're describing sounds more like a reaction to stress.

Yes, it is natural for them to slow down somewhat in shedding frequency as they get older. Aside from sounding like a dragon who may not want to be handled quite so much, or at least given a bit of a break for a while, he sounds pretty normal. Try giving him a few days of "alone time" so he can relax and see how his routine is, if he seems less moody at all.

Thanks he's actually starting to shed on his head so I'm very happy about that . I never really thought about Poopsie NOT want all the attention because whenever he's out thats all he's looking for & if he doesn't get it he'll do something crazy :shock: but now that her older he has slowed down & he doesn't do that type of stuff as much. Sometimes I don't think he gets out ENOUGH & sometimes I think he's being handled to much by multiple people in the house & that might stress him out ( that's when I put a lock on his cage :wink: ) I do understand that he needs time for himself ( everyone does) I'm just so used to him wanting to play all the time so now I have to switch from "play all the time " to "play a little than chilax 8) " & I'll make sure he's not being handled to much & let him have some Poopsie time anything for my Pooper

when my beardies start to act sluggish i change the bulbs and they perk right up. they are supposed to last 6 months, but it seems more like 5 for me.
