Why is there a duck in the website picture?

Just wondering seems really really weird on a bearded dragon website.

I don't remember the entire story behind the ducklings, but I can tell you what I remember reading....
Alex (beardie) the site Administrator took the pick of the ducklings one Spring in a near by pond to him.
As for the reason why it is the banner I can't remember. I'm sure someone else can chime in on that part. :wink:

It was spring time. That's the only reason. I'll be changing it up to one of our older summer ones (haven't really had time to put into playing with new banner ideas like I used to).

I've been meaning to update it again. *sigh* I'm more than happy to seek ideas, but there are some basics that need to remain to provide consistency for the site over the years and banners. Primarily, the image(s) on the left need to remain. I'm open to other fonts for "BeardedDragon.org" but will be reasonably critical of the choice and think about how I like the look overall with the site. Mostly, we've used this font, but on occasion have had a different font thrown in. The main area open for "messing around with", is the right side background. You can add foreground, change up font color (or font), etc.

I haven't updated it to have many of the ones after October 2006, but that gives an idea of some of the changes/variety we've had.

The banner image is actually rectangular with hard corners. The curved corners is done through the page display, so no need to try and "create" that. The right side should face to black to allow for more flexible browser sizing and still look like it belongs. I can even handle the blending of things with the left-most images and the animated GIF part. And I'm sure that I have a Photoshop starting point if that's helpful for anyone to use who wants to come up with an idea in Photoshop.

Hey i also have photoshop what one do you have cs4? Do you reckon if we made some descent signitures we could give them to bearded dragon.org so they could sell them using paypal???
