Why does my beardie stink?

My beardie is starting to smell like poo and I can't figure out why! His substrate is paper towel, and I clean his poop up the moment I see it so he shouldn't be running through it. I also give him baths about every other day especially since he's been smelling!

Mine gets a "reptile" smell sometimes too <---best way I can describe it lol but it does stink. I just allow her to soak in a warm bath for about 15-20 min and once a week I use a very soft bristled tooth brush and gently scrub her (it usually puts her to sleep lol) and it helps a lot. There are products out there to bathe them in but I can't recommend any since I've never used anything. I personally don't see the point, she is a reptile and it's natural for her to have her own little lizard smell. I found this method works good enough without adding any unnecessary products to her bath water

This. A bath shold get rid of most fecal matter that may have been caught between the beardie's scales.

I agree. A nice soak in a warm bath usually does the trick when they start to stink a bit. For more heavy duty needs adding a little bit of mild unscented natural soap helps. I use Dr Bronner's Baby Mild which works well. It's not often needed though.
