White thing on face

Hey,

My bearded dragon is about 5 1/2 weeks old... And he's starting to shed his skin for the first time with me being his owner. I bought him when he was 3 weeks old... He has this white blotch type thing on his face, looks a bit like white paint or tip-ex... I'm sure he had something like this on his tail but it went away... He diet consists of vegetables and leaves, sometimes fruit, and crickets, but the fruits and vegetables only being ones that are safe for him to eat.

I was just wondering what these were?

Once the pic's are at photobucket you can copy and paste the IMG code(4th choice under pic when you place the cursor over it) into your post a reply page. It will appear as a code. Click on the Preview button to see if it worked if you can see the pic then your all good an you can submit post.

Could it possibly be urate? Is it chalky white looking?

Urate is the white part when they poop. Beardies urine is like that of birds not liquid. Sometimes babies will make a mess with their poops. I really can not tell in that pic if it is part of the skin or not. You could give your baby a bath in lukewarm water up to the shoulders maybe put a wash cloth at the bottom so he's not slipping. If you have an old soft tooth brush you could ever so lightly brush that area to see if it comes off. But not hard enough to irritate it if it is actually the skin. It doesn't really look like shed which was one of my other thoughts.

I used an old toothbrush and a bit of water, and it came off... So it proabably was just urate
