Hi all!

This is a knowledge question, as I use a white light basking bulb in the day with the repti-sun uvb tube. I'm curious to see if anyone knows the WHY this helps protect their eyes? I'm not questioning it at all, I'm just very scientific and like to know why/how things like this work. A link to a study would be awesome if anyone has one!!

As you can probably tell, I am a knowledge geek and love to learn! :D

I'd imagine it's just the same as for humans...UV rays aren't visible, and even though the tubes do give off light in the visible spectrum, it's not much. When the basking light is very bright, the pupils will constrict, limiting the amount of visible light AND UV rays which can reach the retina.

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
