Which Worm, Which Worm?

I have a baby beardie, about 5 inches long, named Miguel. I was thinking it might be nice next time I have to order more crickets to try and find some worms that could be fed to him at this size to spice up his diet a bit, give him some variety. The only problem is, I've heard a lot of bad things about mealworms- and also a lot of people saying they've used them for years and their dragons have done just fine- so I kind of wanted to avoid those, but I can't find any other worms that come in different sizes, or information about how big things like waxworms are. If anyone can recommend a good, small worm Miguel might enjoy, that'd be great. It'd be pretty sweet if they were on the cheap side too, hehe. ;)

Thanks!

I've had great luck with Phoenix worms ..from the Phoenix Worm Store. Just ordered horn and silkworms for the first time from Mulberry Farms. From what I understand the Phoenix worms are a better staple and the horn and silks are more like treats. Mulberry Farms also had other variety packs available.

These are large phoenix worms. You'd might want smalls for your guy.

I've heard a lot of good things about silkworms. I've also heard they tend to be rather expensive and hard to keep. . . Do they come in different sizes, so that I could order some small enough for my baby?

Well, 200 is 10.00$ on Mulberry Farms.com or I know lindasgonebuggie.com carries them. But yeah, they're definatley small for your baby, but not too big. I had no dead ones and they lasted well over two weeks, I fed them all off. She really liked them! :D Plus they're soft and easy to eat for them and full of protein and have an enzyme that makes calcium absorbtion more efficient!

So, phoenix worms and silk worms. . . I think I'll keep the crickets and switch out worms regularly to keep things interesting for him. I also like to experiment with his veggies too. So far, he doesn't seem interested in anything except his crickets, but given that he's just a baby that's not really very surprising, haha. :3 When he's older maybe I'll try some waxworms- I haven't found a site that sells those in different sizes but I've heard they're a good treat.

Am I the only one that loves that their diet is so varied, and that they have favorites just like a human? With cats and dogs you pour food in one bowl and water in another (unless you feed them the fancy feasts and such, then there's a little more room for variation) but with dragons you get to test different things to see what they really love and what they really don't, and prepare them little salads and watch them chase their food all over the tank. . . I'm not sure why but I find it really interesting. :3

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
