Which Solarmeter?

I've pretty much decided to get a Solarmeter so I can stop stressing so much about whether or not Georgie is getting sufficient UVB. (Yes, I am a neurotic beardie mama.) However, I've been reading stuff online for hours about Solarmeters, and I have no clear sense of whether I should get the 6.2 or the 6.5. LightYourReptiles has good prices on both of them (the 6.2 is a little cheaper, but not by a whole lot). Can any Solarmeter owners weigh in here? Thanks!

I bought the 6.5 from Todd at lightmyreptiles & it works great. I have 5 dragons plus a ramp where they have outside time, so get 6 power suns at a time and this has really helped make sure they're all still working. So I'd go for the 6.5, it's really worth the $ & will save you alot of grief, trying to guess when your light isn't working anymore.

So what reading are you looking for on that meter?? Details please...lol

Between 2.0 to 3.0 is what you're looking for where the dragon is, at the snout level. That means they're getting optimum levels of UVB. over 3.0 is too high, when you get closer to the light the level goes up, which means as the light gets older it can be put down a bit to retain the optimum level. I check every 2 mo because I have Power Suns. And so far so good!
